SAN ANTONIO -- The San Antonio Independent School District is investigating at least five tutoring companies for possible fraud and has filed formal complaints with the Texas Education Agency.

According to the district, the after-school programs were reporting to the districts that tutoring was done, when parents and students said it wasn't. Those companies have asked the district to pay them more than $240,000 for the tutoring. Now the companies have been asked to stop operating while the district investigates.

We wanted to know whether this was going on in any of the other districts. The Northeast Independent School District got back to us and said they've also had issues. They have actually had to stop contracts with 7 tutoring providers because they were following students home and knocking on their doors, which is not allowed.

We will continue to ask questions about these problems and let you know what we find out.
