SAN ANTONIO -- Federal authorities have arrested more than two dozen people in connection with a human smuggling ring.

The federal indictment unsealed Tuesday accuses 26-year-old April Gaitan of San Antonio and 27 others of conspiring to smuggle immigrants into the country from September of last year through August of this year, according to a San Antonio Express News article.

Authorities say the ring smuggled as many as 200 immigrants a month into the United States, and stashed some of them here in San Antonio. The immigrants came primarily from Mexico and Central and South America.
