SAN ANTONIO -- Forty-eight high school seniors earned an associate degree this weekend from San Antonio College.
Since they were freshmen at Travis Early College High School, they've split their time taking both high school and college courses.
"My parents are proud, and that's what I care about," said senior Carlos Castaneda.
Castaneda is the first in his family to earn a college degree. He plans to attend the University of Texas at Austin in the fall.
Seventeen-year-old Andrew De Luna will attend Yale University beginning this summer. He earned two associate degrees from San Antonio College and will graduate high school in the coming weeks.
This year is a special one for SAISD's Travis Early College High School because this senior class is the first group of teenagers to graduate from the SAISD/SAC program. All 48 seniors will attend a university this fall.
We're told Travis Early College High School is already interviewing a new freshmen class for next year. If you would like to learn more about the program,
