SAN ANTONIO -- A San Antonio police officer has been arrested for driving while intoxicated.

San Antonio Police Department officials say Officer Robert Romo was pulled over in the 600 block of Northwest Loop 410 around 1:30 a.m. Friday. A passenger in the vehicle was also arrested. The officer who pulled over the car stated it took a while for Romo and his passenger to roll down the vehicle's window and that Romo was seen moving from the driver's seat to the back seat.

Police say Romo was on injury leave but will now be placed on administrative leave. He has been with the San Antonio Police Department for about 4 and a half years.

This is another DWI. The fact that it is someone in S.A.P.D. does not make this a News story. If the officer is not disciplined or if they had let him walk then it would be. Let them handle it and quit trying to sensationalize it.

Wow, after reading comments like these, I am embarassed to say I call San Antonio home. I have yet to see 2300 officers all drunk and being arrested for any crime, but after reading these comments you think I should. How dare any of you throw all the police offcer's down the drain when a few are doing wrong. No body has said a word about the officer that made that arrest. Was he drunk too? Or was he just trying to do a difficult job that nobody appreciates. I am sure he thought, as he was making this arrest, that he would be called names, chastized, and lumped into the same barrel with the idiot he just arrested. You all are pathetic. If your police department is so corrupt, then get out from behind your computer and do something about it. If you don't care about your city, then just sit there and grumble.

Enough is enough , with all these drunk cops running all over our city ,like the loose cannon who threw a fit and profanity s when she got arrested just recently ,I have lost all respect for San- Antonio police officers , this part of our city taxes Is being thrown in the garbage , they are hiring whoever and whatever to carry a gun and have authority ,I'm sick and tired of this , we need a new police chief who knows how to run a police department , like Selma they have a wonderful police force , no one has been drunk on their force and they are very reasonable and don't think they are bigger than God like San Antonio cops act ,rude bunch of drunks in my opinion.
