SAN ANTONIO -- A bicycling accident that
killed a couple in Helotes last month is brining about change. The bicycling community is pushing for safety measures and city leaders are listening.
Mayor Julián Castro showed his support by joining a Monday bicycle ride. Cyclists rode from Main Plaza to Mission Concepcion to show leaders what it is like to bike around the city.
“Truth be told there's a lot of work that still needs to be done to create a network of bicycle lanes across the city to make it safe everywhere,” Mayor Castro said before the ride.
Mayor Castro says the city is keeping that in mind when working on road construction projects. City leaders are also working with those in austin to become more bike-friendly.
