SAN ANTONIO -- Former NFL Player Samuel Hurd III is back in custody.  He was arrested in San Antonio this afternoon for violating conditions of his bond.

The Lone Star Fugitive Task Force picked up the ex-wide receiver at a local YMCA.

Hurd had been out on bond since last December when he was arrested in Chicago on federal drug charges.

A U.S. District Court in Dallas issued an arrest warrant for Hurd after he was found in violation of his bond conditions when a urine test came back positive for marijuana.

The Lone Star Task Force tracked Hurd to San Antonio where he was visiting family.  He was arrested without incident.

His trial on those drug charges is set for October 9th.

Hurd has played football for both the Chicago Bears and Dallas Cowboys and attended Brackenridge High School in San Antonio.

Have you ever stopped and wonder if this maybe a setup? Why aren't any of the people that he suppose to have sold all of these drugs to were not indicted? Why was he arrested after his trail was reset untill October. If he came up dirty, why is this the fist time since his arrest? I,m sure he has had more than one test since his arrest. MMMMMMMMMMMMM

Sam Hurd is a confirmed gang member. If you ever noticed when he WAS on television he always put forth a great deal of effort to hide his arm which is sleeved in gang related tatoos. t is no wonder that he used his resources to try to be somebody in the drug trade. Sir, you danced, now it is time to pay the band. You could care less about those who are sick about your situation, as just as most gang members, you are a selfish, conceited soul with low self esteem.

Now that is why Dallas is known as the 'Crackboys'. Far too players with that team have been arrested for drugs.

The kids I went to HS with in SAISD always wondered why recruiters never paid them any mind and only took them for face value. It's because punks like this continue to fit the stereotype. These kids at schools like Brack will never get the chance they deserve if the successful ones who got out already keep ruining it for everyone else. I don't feel sorry for athletes who think they are above the law or "won't get caught". It's all a cop-out.
