SAN ANTONIO -- Bexar County Sheriff's investigators are preparing to review a reported assault that led to a standoff Sunday.

After five hours outside the home, negotiators decided to leave. Deputies say the woman started backing away from her story about being assaulted, and investigators said there was no indication the man was going to hurt himself.

Deputies told News 4 WOAI there were inconsistencies in some of the couple's statements.

"We would like to have all the information, straight forward and up front at first. In a perfect world," said Ino Badillo of the Bexar County Sheriff's Department. "But this is not a perfect world. If it changes, it changes."

Deputies are interviewing the woman again. They said they will continue to investigate and see if any charges could be filed against her.
