KERRVILLE, Texas -- A 7-foot lizard that apparently escaped from an exotic animal collector's property was captured in Kerr County.

Kerr County Sheriff Rusty Hierholzer said his officers helped animal control officers catch the "water monitor" Wednesday afternoon after it was spotted on Upper Turtle Creek Road.

Sheriff Hierholzer said his department is also looking into reports of another large lizard seen in west Kerr County.
