SAN ANTONIO - San Antonio Police are searching for two men, one of whom shot at an off-duty officer Tuesday night.

Sgt. Javier Salazar said the uniformed officer was working security at the Spring Hill Apartments, a San Antonio Housing Authority complex on Ray Bon off Eisenhauer.  The officer heard gunshots and saw a large crowd after 7 p.m. and went to investigate.

"He saw two individuals separate from the crowd run between two buildings and he announced his presence as a police officer," Sgt. Salazar said.

Sgt. Salazar said the officer warned the two men to stop and one of them pulled a handgun and shot at the officer, who was not hurt. The two men ran off.  The gunman had previously fired into an apartment before shooting at the officer.

Police said the two men are African American and one of them is six feet tall, wearing black gym shorts and a black hooded sweatshirt. Officers could not provide a specific description for the other man.

Pastor Bob, the cops in Converse police won't put up with this crime. It's a good place to live and work. Been there, done that. Good folks in Converse.

This location is actually quite near to Converse and I would imagine that this incident is closely related to the capture of several colored men in Converse yesterday who had been out robbng Christians. There is no telling what these particular individuals were up to, but it may have been an arguement concerning the division of the spoils from some of their robberies. If Converse could be eliminated as a safe haven for these wretches, we could probably begin to clean up the norheast part of this city and make it safe for Christians again. God knows the godly residents of Windcrest would be happy to be able to step away from the barricades for a peaceful night's sleep.
