SAN ANTONIO - The San Antonio Independent School District has begun interviewing candidates to lead the district.
Trustees have narrowed down their list of finalists for superintendent to seven -- down from their original field of 88.
The candidates include both men and women and are of different racial groups.
None of the candidates are internal.
The new superintendent will replace Sylvester Perez who has been interim superintendent since Former Superintendent Robert Duron resigned last February.
