SAN ANTONIO -- Bexar County Tax Assessor-Collector Sylvia Romo made her official announcement Wednesday that she is running run for the newly drawn District 35 Congressional Seat.

Romo has served as tax assessor-collector for more than a decade. District 35 spans several counties, including parts of Bexar, Caldwell, Guadalupe, Hays, and all of Atascosa county.

Among the candidates she will face in the democratic primary is former District 23 Congressman Ciro Rodriguez.
