Pig Pen Smokers, kudos to you!Sorry we missed your group, we would've been more than happy to donate for the goodies! We weren't looking for hand-outs,just a chance to join the SA Rodeo celebration!Maybe the private groups should have their own cook-off,bunch of snotty nosed arrogant creatures! They must not be from the Great State of Texas, all the Texans I know have a great heart and a grand way of making others feel welcome!

In regards to the post above, we had a team out there called PIG PEN SMOKERS. We gave away over 600 lbs of food. We also gave away beer, soda, water and wine. Some teams are private, but others like us go for the public. We enjoy having having a good time and sharing. So next time you are out there come in and say hi.

Well, this was a total rip-off,you pay $15.a person to walk around and watch people bbq, drink beverages and party in their little fenced areas. Total crock,no vendors, so if you're not part of any of the groups, you just watch evrybody else eat and be merry. We walked half the area before we found a small cart/wagon selling water/cokes.The highlight of the trip was friendly folks DIRT ROAD COOKERS, with their tasty, delicious, 8ft. pizza!Oh and yes, their was also the very public Atascosa Dodge activities, different teams competing in fun gamesmthey were hilarious, need more of those, other than that, it was walk, walk,no food,no drink till finally the small cart selling beverages?!This is a very private setup, most of the groups give you the look, like what the, can't you see we were having a good time till you all arrived?!So much for the long wait for the shuttle buses to take you to the grounds and then another long wait to take you back to the parking areas!
