SAN ANTONIO -- San Antonio will kick off the 2012 holiday season with the Ford Holiday River Parade and Lighting ceremony on Friday, November 23rd.

The Holiday River Parade will feature beautifully illuminated floats, celebrities, and bands. This year's Grand Marshal is Olympic Silver Medalist and San Antonio local Jimmy Feigan. The parade will run from 7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. and will go on rain or shine.

Tickets will be available at Will Call the day of the parade. Will Call will be located in La Villita at 418 Villita St., 78205 outside of the La Villita Assembly Hal between 8:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. You must present a picture ID to claim your tickets. Children 3 years of age or older will need a ticket.

Alamo Plaza: H-E-B Tree Lighting Celebration

The 28th Annual H-E-B Tree Lighting Celebration in Alamo Plaza is also set for Friday.

The event is free and will include face painters, balloon artists, and live musical entertainment with special guest Sebastien De La Cruz from America's Got Talent.

The 55-foot White Fir Christmas Tree from the Shasta Mountain is H-E-B's gift to the city. The tree will be adorned with more than 10,000 LED lights and 450 ornaments and decorations reflecting a Texan Education theme, with all Texas Colleges represented.
