I always call this people and they never show up. I'm tired of all the barking and all the trash from other people on my yard and backyard. I've called like alot of times they never show up! Who else can I call other than the 311 number? Anyone know?

SA Citizen...you and your mom are very sweet to at least TRY and help these poor animals! i wish we could just leave the worthless owners out to starve....ugh. these people are scum and deserve nothing. the animals' lives are worth FAR MORE than theirs! these people are sick. i just can't understand their retarded mentality of getting a pet then not being able to take care of it...or the prank? that's sick. they aren't even worth the crap that comes out of their a**es....

Also, I would like to add that the majority of the neighbors are senior citizens, that cannot afford to take care of other people's dogs but they do out of pity for these poor animals. My mother has two dogs of her own and lives on a fixed income. She and her neighbors cannot continue to feed these animals to keep them from starving. She's even called her local councilman's office and no help received. She's had a bag of dead puppies thrown on her porch after she reported a neighbor for animal abuse (the dog was removed from the home) and dead kittens were left under the tires of her neighbor's car as a prank. These law-abiding, quiet citizens do not need this kind of stress in their lives! Where is the law enforcement when you need it? What we we paying taxes for???

My mother lives near Jefferson High School. She has the same problem EXCEPT the owners are her neighbors and they do nothing to feed nor care for the dogs. For 6 months, she has been calling the ACS weekly and every week, they remove her name from the list and NEVER come out. Meanwhile, the dogs are multiplying and starving and the neighbors cannot trap them for fear of reltaliation from the gang-banging neighbors that don't take care of their dogs in the first place. Who can you complain to if ACS is not going to come out and fine people and pick up the dogs? It's all a huge game for the city...get the funding for ACS by not picking up dogs and continue to call yourself a NO-KILL shelter because you don't even bring dogs in! We are all animal lovers but the more humane way to take care of them is to euthanize them, rather then let them roam the neighborhoods, starving, getting hit by kids, abused by other people, attacking people or having more and more offspring that perpetuates the cycle. HELP US PLEASE!

part of it is a southern problem. so many people in the south, especially in the country are used to letting their dogs roam free. however, anything in san antonio can typically be attributed to a lack of responsibility. i doubt most people in san antonio even know what that means. go volunteer at your local shelters...see how truly horrible the stray problem is in all of SA. people dump their animals off everyday, even ones they bought from sorry a** backyard breeders because "the puppy got too big and he doesn't have any manners and it's too hard!" yah, you realize animals don't COME trained! you actually have to take time away from the tv and teach them! *GASP* considering how most people in this town treat their children, this is a lost concept...

Don't wait for the Mayor do anything about our stray population, he's too busy out stumping for Obama and planning his next campaign.
