i'd think disease is a way bigger issue than getting preggers too...

"Young people ages 13 to 24 account for 26 percent of all new HIV infections, according to the report by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, which was released on Tuesday."

i'll tell you why trutex...because parents have no sense of responsibility anymore. parents got lazy...probably because most of them were teenagers. i was being sarcastic about the 50s, but you take away education and birth control and every other option...something's gotta give somewhere...it sucks that girls these days have no self respect and thing their own self worth is whether they have a man, no matter who that man is. idk true...i'm with you, but what you are proposing is not reality

When I was in HS there was one, uno, un, ein girl that got pregnant and this was decades after the 1950s. She didn't get shipped off to a boarding school although that would not have been a bad thing but she certainly made a name for herself that none of the self respecting girls wanted to share. We do not need to go back to the '50s, just going back to the '70s would be a big improvement. And when it comes to teen pregnancy just why cant we go back to a time of greater personal expectation, responsibility, self discipline, accountability? Other than liberals insisting there is nothing wrong with the behavior in question that is. In fact, how is there even a choice not to? Society is crumbling.

LOL...teen preggo was around way before Obama, JJTX...that's just an ignorant statement. For us to go back to the 50's is just dreaming. Teens who go preggo back then were shipped off to boarding schools...Teens having babies and those kids continuing the circle is part of the problem. another is lack of education to consequences of sex. another is that contraception for those who are going to do it anyway is lacking. what is the answer? idk, but when you take away all options you are creating a recipe for disaster. you can't have both sides of the coin, people. make up your feeble minds

I don't really understand why we're even having this conversation. To me, the lack of EDUCATION and the fear of AIDS should be the issue, first & foremost. If these youngsters are engaging in unprotected sex and our greatest concern is unwanted pregnancy and NOT STD's, we've got a much bigger problem than unwanted pregnancies.
