thanks, lervia! sorry for the late post, but spent this week at Disney :) and had a blast! i haven't gone back to see if my posts were missing, but as i stated last week, i think it was, i agree that NO SPECIAL EXCEPTIONS should be given, to anyone! if the rule in the military is that you do NOT wear your uniform to promote special agendas, then NO ONE should be allowed to do so! i agree whole heartedly with those opposed to this, as I am also opposed to the exception. you're right, this isn't about gay rights. everybody needs to be held to the same standards and procedures.

If you've read through her posts on this subject, she plainly stated that if this was by special permission, with regard to wearing the uniform, she was not for it. She needs to speak for herself, but I can tell you that she will agree with your comment for the most part. She has expressed NOT wanting special privaleges. She wants equal privaleges and rights. If you haven't read all of her posts on this subject, please do. Actually, as I look back myself, I think one or two of her comments may be now missing, but I won't swear to it. It's late and I'm tired, and I may be thinking about comments on the Chick-fil-A article. But, I wanted to come to her defense because she's a good person & friend and isn't advocating using the uniform to promote a personal or political agenda, and actually feels adamantely quite the opposite. And, she's not usually on here on weekends, so........ And, thank you for your post and explanation. Very good, and very informative.

@ladyfingers: The armed forces exists for one reason, to protect our country. They do not exist to promote personal agendas. The military (and the uniform) is about strength through unity. Everyone who wears the uniform is on the same team regardless of race religion or sexual preference. That is the message the uniform conveys. Using a symbol of unity to promote a personal agenda like this is ironic at best and demeaning at worst. This isn't about gay rights. they can have all the rights in the world for all I care, this is about using something meant to unify everyone to promote a personal agenda and make yourself stand out. Ridiculous.

This is an abomination and anathema unto the Lord. These perverts seek to have the service men and women prancing down the street like the Village People. The whole episode is part of the homosexual agenda. Christians must unite to put an end to this nonsense. God willing, the souless lawyers of the Democrat Party will have been turned out of their wicked capital city and the righteous restored to authority shortly. Then this devilish work can be stopped. The military should be turned against these perverts, not urged to join them.

The PC clowns at the Pentagon are trying to have it both ways. They are trying to figure out a way to let those few service members so inclined to attend sexual deviant identity politics group rallies in uniform while still keeping a lid on other service members who would show up at other non-PC political rallies. The Pentagon brass is trying to outdo each other in their efforts to show those in the morally bankrupt BO Admin who hold sway over their promotions that they too are enthusiastic homophiles. This is reminiscent of the Soviet Union where when Stalin would be giving a speech and applause would start. A bell would be rang to signify that everyone could stop applauding else it would continue on as no one wanted to be the first to stop for fear of being singled out as not enthusiastic enough for the vindictive communist leader.

San Diego throws a GREAT Gay Pride parade. A celebration of life and love. Wish I could be there to see it this year. As a Navy veteran who served with many gays and lesbians, I never met one who didn't conduct themselves as a professional.
