Pregnant woman shot during robbery, attacker sought

SAN ANTONIO - Police need your help to track down a man police say shot a pregnant woman during a mugging on the Northwest Side.

Amber Espinoza, 22, is eight months pregnant. She was walking home to the Riverstone Apartments on Cinnamon Creek on Sunday, August 5th when a man grabbed her purse. Espinoza tried to run away, but the suspect shot her in the stomach.

"I turned around, saw the gun pointed at me, and I ran -- and heard the gunshot," said Espinoza.

Espinoza was shot in the back and the bullet came out through the side of her stomach. Amazingly, her baby boy is fine and doctors still say she's expected to deliver on September 5th.

Perhaps if the Police Chief did something about the growing 'imported' gang problem of Californians and Chicago refugees bringing their sick violent relatives with them when they move down here; we wouldn't see these types of stories. But he's too busy playing politics.

Our city is going to the dogs , where are our police and what judges are letting these animals loose , just round up all the garbage and throw them in jail and cause a gas leak , it is so easy , and in our prisons too ,that would make this world a nicer safer place to live for all the do gooders .

This sick rabid animal deserves the death penalty ,this guy is really crazy and when they catch him he should really be put to death by our system or by the prisoners system in jail , he is now cursed till the day he dies .

She did not deserve to be shot...few people "deserve" to be anything much less shot. Rather it is San Antonio-it is going to hell and there is no neighborhood that is safe anymore. It may be a great place to visit, but it is becoming a place NOT to live.
