Now that this poorly thought out tax has passed, I will be protesting this by making any large (and many small) purchases outside the city or online.

The city fact sheet for Pre-K San Antonio says there are over 5,000 kiddos eligible for state-funded pre-k. Why not just enroll the kiddos who need the help in available programs and NOT fund another massive infrastructure project. This is $248M taxpayers should not pay over the next eight years. Vote NO.

I so totally agree with cperez21. it isn't fair to many. it should be across the board! or not at all. if you can't fund it for all? then go back and redraw a plan that will include all kids. I know it isn't fair because i am a single mother struggling to pay my bills but was told i made too much money to to put my son in pre-k and that was when i worked 20 hrs a week at 7.50/hr so who really is it benefiting? not the single parent households barely scraping by.

So voting Yes to pre-K will be voting YES for ONLY those who are low income or fall below what they consider low income? This doesn't help THE KIDS OF THE CITY if it's not available to all kids (which is how they pitched it). I guess I'll just keep sticking my kids in private school...if I'm going to pay might as well be a bit better of an education. I don't believe that a 4K full day is a long day for kids that age some are ready for school at that point or even sooner! I will be voting no because once again the hard working parent/parents who try to do better for their children will get punished *again*

The math says each child will cost $5ooo per year,30M/yr divided by 6000 students, and with only 4 centers that will put 1250 kids in each center. Don't fall for this scam

Vote NO on Pre-K! Do not give the city council another fund to pull from. Why not merge all the ISD boards and use the savings to balance out the school fund.

Do the math..$31,000,000 per year, only $7.81 per household, that would require 3,969,270 households. Obama math? $60,000 to 80,000 for teachers? Very expensive baby-sitters. This project belongs in the same trashcan as the Trolly Cars should be.
