SAN ANTONIO – The owners of Woodlake Golf Club on the northeast side confirmed to News 4 a potential buyer has joined the fight to save the historic greens.
Earlier this year, the current owners filed for bankruptcy and submitted a business plan to the court in hopes of keeping the course open.
The owners said Friday the court proceedings are on hold because someone is interested in buying the club. They’re not sure who, but say they’ve been fielding interest all summer from potential buyers.
Either way, owner John Clay says he hopes to have a deal ironed out by the end of the month that would keep players on the links.
Woodlake has a PGA pedigree: it hosted several Texas Opens back in the 1970s, and the owners have said they don’t want the course to shut down like its contemporary on the south side, Pecan Valley Golf Club.RELATED STORY: 07/31/12 The drive to save Woodlake Golf Club
