SAN ANTONIO- San Antonio police held a solemn ceremony to honor Officer Stephanie Brown who died in the line of duty.

Chief William McManus presented Officer Stephanie Brown's father, Officer Stanley Brown with a purple heart. It’s an award given to officers who have been injured while on the job or who have lost their lives.

Stephanie Brown was killed over a year ago when her patrol car was struck by a suspected drunk driver.

Officer Stanley Brown said, “Not a day goes by that I don't think about my daughter and I just want to say thanks to the police department and to the community for helping us make it day by day”.

Officer Stanley Brown added that he looks forward to his granddaughter growing up so he can tell her about her courageous mom.

The Purple Heart is a Military award for the combat wounded. Why dont the police come up with their own award? No disrespect for the fallen officer or her family, but dont compare police action to combat action. Im sorry, being a disabled veteran thats how I feel.

Police are revenue generators, harassing innocent motorists. The drunk & intoxicated motorists are far from innocent, but many individuals who are merely driving over an inappropriately-labeled speed limit are forced to tithe to the Revenue Generators. It's pathetic! Absolutely disgusting that such things occur in the United States of America.
