You’ve hit the nail on the head, @usesomecents. The problem is NOT being drunk. @LindaB, sit down and shut up about Fiesta. If you don’t like it, don’t go. The problem is DRIVING drunk, not being drunk. What good will it do to pull a driver’s license from someone with three DWI convictions and a year in jail? Driving drunk is as much against the law as is driving without a license. Rather than lose their license, they need to lose their cars and never be allowed to own a car again. There are other transportation options.

3 priors a 4th one now. He may have served his time for the prior 3 but I seriously doubt this was the first time since those three that he was out drinking and driving. He wont ever stop and the courts should realize this. However, they can suspend his license all they want but they cant stop him from buying a car and driving it drunk. He should go to jail for at least 1 year.

Exactly LindaB! If this type of corruption exists in a "holy" state like Utah, can you imagine the corruption in Texas? I don't recall Utah having roadblocks or forced blood draws. How would you like to be pulled over for something ticky tacky, and asked to do a field sobriety test "just as a precaution"? And when you refuse, you are arrested, taken downtown, and someone sticks a needle in your arm. When the results find you're innocent, will the police pay to get your impounded car out or any other fees? If the courts would keep them in jail, take away their licenses, and mandatory monitoring, then my civil rights wouldn't be stomped on.

Oh sure, lets not hold the person who should be responsible for their own actions accountable, lets blame it on the business owner. That makes sense. Chances are he was cut off in one bar and went to another, then another. A bartender doesn't know how much the customer had to drink before he walked into the bar, as far as he knows, this is the first time he's been served. People need to be responsible for their OWN actions and in this case, he should NEVER be allowed the privileged of having a drivers license again. Driving is a privilege, not a right.

The citizens of San Atonio are fed up with all the sloppy drunks all over our city. We are fed up with drunks murdering people on our roads.I say lets also hold the Bars accountable for their customers that are drunk, then have accidents. Anyone that sits in a bar for hours,is drunk when they leave 98% of the time.Disgusting...and sick

I hope that they continue to arrest these drunken slobs. San Antonio needs to stop supporting drinking at Fiesta too ..That would show alot about our city leaders. The city arrests people for drunk driving...then throw a huge beer drinking party at Fiesta time. Stop selling alcohol at City Functions....it further enables the problem.
