SAN ANTONIO--Police continue to investigate the death of a 9 month old baby.
"We are waiting on the medical examiner's office to rule the cause of death, " said Officer Matthew Porter with SAPD.
The medical examiner's office has identified the baby as Jaden Sanders. Officer Porter said the death is being treated as suspicious.
Baby Jaden was found inside a Rodeway Inn Motel room on Austin Hwy Friday night . "The victim was unresponsive, had a slight pulse, and according to the report there were possible signs of trauma on the child, " replied Officer Porter.
Officer Porter went on to say police saw what appeared to be a cigarette burn on the baby's back.
A spokesperson for the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services told News 4 WOAI the agency had no record of Jaden Sanders and his parents of alleged abuse. But, spokesperson Mary Walker went on to say back in 2010 the agency did open up an investigation into the welfare of Sander's siblings who were two years old, and two months old at the time. Walker said the claims of neglect back in 2010 were unfounded and the case was closed.
A worker at the Rodeway Inn said Monday night, baby Jaden, his mother, and a man had been staying at the motel for the past several weeks.
The medical examiner's office said the cause of Jaden Sander's death could be known as early as Tuesday.
