SAN ANTONIO- A human smuggling bust was found south of downtown early Monday morning.
Police received a call about 1:30 in the morning about a suspicious vehicle at a home on Southolme avenue near Brazos. When they arrived, they found that 20 illegal immigrants hiding inside the home. Many of them are reportedly sick and tests are planned to see what they have. Seventeen men and three women were found in the home. They were taken into custody by immigration and customs enforcement agents.
Two suspected smugglers were also arrested. Three thousand dollars was confiscated from the home. Authorities say a list, apparently of people who owe money, was also taken from the scene.
