SAN ANTONIO -- Police arrested a woman they say stabbed her boyfriend after he broke up with her Tuesday night.
Investigators say 23-year-old Eva Gonzales and 40-year-old Michael Gilchrist got into a fight inside their home at The Vintage apartments in the 7700 block of Louis Pasteur around 10:30 p.m. Tuesday. Gilchrist told police Gonzales followed him out the parking garage and stabbed him as he was putting some of his belongings in the trunk of his car.
Officers say Gonzales admitted to stabbing Gilchrist but said she was only trying to slash his tires to keep him from leaving and ended up cutting him while the two were struggling for his car keys.
Gonzales is now charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
