SAN ANTONIO -- Police tracked down a driver they believe took off after hitting a bicyclist in a South Side neighborhood.

Police say an older man was riding in the 400 block of Mitchell, near King Roger Road, when a black truck slammed into him. Witnesses said they tried to keep the truck from leaving, but the driver managed to drive off.

Officers stopped the truck at Interstate 10 and Probandt and took the man driving into custody.

The victim was taken to a hospital in stable condition.

First it was a female driver, second the officers did not track her down... 1 of the witness followed her cut her off before she was able to jump on the highway and an another witness went up to the vehicle reached in turn off the truck and took the keys....than there was a cop near by that had pulled someone over and he was waved over to help out
