SAN ANTONIO -- Police are searching for a driver they say caused a three-vehicle accident on the Northwest Side early Sunday morning, according to police.

A police report states the driver of a Mitsubishi was traveling in the northbound lanes of Interstate 10 West near Callaghan Road around 2:30 a.m. Sunday, when he apparently lost control of his car, and it slammed into a retaining wall. The impact sent the Mitsubishi back into oncoming traffic where it was then hit by a Chevrolet Tahoe and a Nissan Altima.

The man driving the Tahoe was taken to University Hospital for head and leg pain. A passenger in the Tahoe was taken to Santa Rosa for chest pain. The driver of the Altima was not injured.

The driver of the Mitsubishi fled on foot before police arrived.
