SAN ANTONIO -- New details were released concerning a Bexar County Deputy accused of raping a woman he picked up.
Police say the on-duty deputy brought the 39-year-old woman back to her apartment Tuesday morning after stopping her and threatening to check for warrants.
News 4 WOAI has learned that the deputy has had run-ins with the woman before. She told police, this time, he grabbed her by the neck, and then pulled off her clothes and forced her to have sex.
Neighbors said they noticed the deputy's patrol car parked outside the woman's apartment, but did not realize she was in trouble.
The frightened woman managed to call for help. Police said when they arrived, they found the deputy lying naked on the woman's sofa, his uniform tossed to the side.
The deputy works with the Warrants Division delivering court papers and has been with the Sheriff's Office for 23 years.
The woman's relatives spoke to News 4 WOAI about the alleged assault, but were too afraid of retaliation from law enforcement to show their faces.
"You can't say nothing, or you have to worry about something happening," the victim's sister told News 4 WOAI.
Police haven't made any arrests yet in this case. But the deputy has been placed on leave during the investigation.
