SAN ANTONIO -- A Domino's Pizza delivery man was attacked and robbed on the Northwest Side early Wednesday.
A police report states the 59-year-old victim was making a delivery at the Cordoba Apartments in the 7800 block of Callaghan just after 12:00 a.m. Wednesday. When no one answered the door of the apartment, he called the customer's phone number. The customer did not answer but called back and said he was breaking a $100 bill and would be right there.
The victim said a man carrying a metal object in his hand approached him a short time later and struck him in the side of the face. The victim told police he fought back but ended up on the ground. The attacker then told him "The money, give me the money." The victim said after he handed over the $19.00 he had, he made his way back to his car and drove back to Domino's to get help.
Police say the victim suffered a "severe laceration."
The suspect is described as a white male who is about 5' 09" tall and has a light build and a light complexion. He has shoulder-length blond or strawberry-colored hair and was wearing a dark blue cap at the time of the attack.
