SAN ANTONIO -- About two dozens parents and teenagers, wearing Justice for Rios t-shirts, stood outside an elementary school waiting for the Harlandale Independent School District board meeting to start, they soon realized it had been cancelled.

The group was prepared to address the school board voicing passionate support Cassandra Rios, a teacher on administrative leave and now many are upset the meeting was postponed late this afternoon.

"We tried to address it with administrators and they wouldn't tell us anything," insisted the anonymous parent.

She and others believe Rios was place on administrative leave because of a facebook photograph showing the dance team sponsor and speech teacher at Dick's Last Resort with former students.

Supporters said someone tagged the teacher in the photo but they did not believe there was any thing wrong. One parents told us administrators find the picture inappropriate.

"She really impacted a lot of girls lives," said one parents wear a Team Rios

In 2011, through sweat and lots of practice, the McCollum High School dance team received top honors in a national competition.

Students told us Rios is the reason they succeeded.

"I don't know why they would want her out. She Is a great person. She is a great teacher.”

Leslie Garza, spokesperson for Harlandale ISD, said the board meeting had been rescheduled for next Monday at 6:15pm at H.W. Schulze Elementary School.

Garza could not comment on the teacher or her employment with the district.
