WAYNE TOWNSHIP, Indiana - A couple in Indiana is demanding answers after their daughter came home from school with duct tape wrapped around her feet.

Eight-year-old Shaylin Searcy is a special needs student at Westlake Elementary School in Wayne Township.  Her parents say they have received previous calls about Shaylin removing her shoes, but say no one called them about the issue on Monday.

The school is investigating and has notified the Indiana Department of Child Services. The Searcys don't know who put the tape on their daughter's shoes, and say she will not return to the school.

I would like to think that no one in an educational facility would go so far as to use duct tape to keep a kids shoes on, but then I think about how some people swallow stupid pills with their breakfast instead of Centrum. We as a society have to do better than this.

maybe home schooling would work better so she can stay in her pajamas and run around with no shoes all day.
