SAN ANTONIO -- A group of Democrats wants San Antonio Mayor Julián Castro to run for governor of Texas in 2014.

The group has launched a website to drum up interest and support for the plan.

The group's website states "We believe that Mayor Julián Castro is the Democrat who can inspire voters to elect the first Democratic Governor of Texas since Ann Richards!"

OMG...all we need is for this state to have a tax and spend democrat to put us in the same position as California!!! This mayor can spend money like a drunken sailor. The most recent attack is the push for pre-k and the use of the 1/8 cent tax. This tax should be taken off the table for any pet projects that the city wants.

I don't give a rat's "ash" whether Castro is a cross-bred pygmy from Harlem. Bottom line is that he is a liberal Democrat that supports the concept of entitlements and every other ill of the Ass (Democratic) Party. Get off your high horses about racial this, ethnic that, ethnocentric maybe, blah, blah, blah. Bunch of fools.
