SAN ANTONIO - Operation Bring Eddie Home is in the final stretch, more than six months after Eddie Moreno was shot and paralyzed in a road rage shooting.

Volunteers have been working around the clock to rebuild his home and make it completely accessible for his wheelchair.  Next week, movers will install furniture and appliances but News 4 WOAI got a sneak peek at some of the amenities designed just for Eddie.

Eddie was supposed to come home this week but is still hospitalized in Houston for medical reasons.  His family hopes to have him home before Thanksgiving, if the doctors approve.

Eddie is in a wheelchair and all hallways and doorways are large enough for him to maneuver through.  His bedroom is designed to look like a college dorm room, complete with an area for his friends to come and visit.  His bathroom is completely tiled and large enough to accommodate his five foot turn around in his wheelchair.

The interior design team has a few other special amenities planned for the home and the team hopes to surprise the Moreno family with the finished home.  The team is still looking for some help.  Click here to find out more about Operation Bring Eddie Home.
