SAN ANTONIO - It has been a long first week for families on Deer Park and Leander streets. Ten homes were hit by a tornado last Wednesday morning.

Of those hit, damages varied from roof tops ripped off to minor things like fences pulled apart. Many of those homes are still undergoing repairs.

Anthony Wilson showed News 4 WOAI the cracks in his walls and the foundation. This week a structural engineer is going to assess the damage.

"It's part of life you never know what's going to happen. You have to keep your head up and trust God," said Wilson.

One home in the West Side neighborhood has been condemned. A fence now surrounds it.

Wilson says it will be months before the neighborhood gets back to normal.

Let's hope that their homeowner's insurance cover all of that. Cross your fingers, because times like this, the insurance companies hate paying out. 99.9% of the time, they most likely will try to find all kinds of way's to screw you. Good luck, not sure what God has to do with this, HE created tornado's too.
