This is a horribly sad story. These boys (YES,BOYS) were way too young to die this way. Unfortunately alcohol HAD to have played a major role in this situation. My thoughts and prayers go out to the families of these young guys.

A friend of mine was recently arrsted for DWI. He received a 2000.00 fine, 18 months probation @ 120.00 per month, 3000.00 state levy from DPS, has to have the ignition interlock placed on his vehicle for I believe nine months at a cost of 75.00 per month, auto insurance went up 80.00 per month, as well as impound fees when car was towed, has had to attend at least two classes. and has had to complete forty hours of community service. He is a first time offender, was close to the legal limit, and was not involved in a crash. All added up this incident will cost him about ten thousand dollars. Will the cost persuade him to call a tow truck or a cab the next time, I doubt it. Having the offenders serve the maximum jail sentences is what I believe make the difference. If a person needs to be released to go to work, then that can be arranged, but then they need to return to the Bexar County Jail to serve their time.

Who writes these articles? The title reads one dead, the story reads 2 dead.

Horrific? Every Friday and Saturday night seems like someone's head is rolling down 1604 or 410 or 35 or 90 after a drunken crash. It's almost getting acceptable around beantown. Isn't St Anthony the patron saint of drunk driving scumbags?
