SAN ANTONIO -- A suspected burglar was shot at a Southeast Bexar County home Friday.
The shooting happened around noon Friday at a home in the 2000 block of Dan Road, near Highway 181. An officer with the Bexar County Sheriffs' Office said the man found a door open at his deceased mother's house, which is right next door to his home. The officer said the man went inside to check it out and found a male who was apparently burglarizing the house.
The man confronted the suspect, who then ran outside. The man fired at least one shot at the suspect before the suspect jumped into a car started backing up. Officials say the man fired additional shots, and the suspect was found along Highway 181 with a gunshot wound the his leg.
The suspect was taken to San Antonio Military Medical Center. Information about his condition was not available.
