SAN ANTONIO - A San Antonio police officer is recovering after he was involved in an accident.

This happened around 11:30 p.m. Tuesday along the access road at Loop 410 and Highway 151.  Investigators say the officer was assisting the driver of a disabled vehicle when a car sideswiped his cruiser and the disabled car.  The officer was in his cruiser when it was hit and the airbag injured his shoulder. No one else was hurt.

Police say the driver who allegedly caused the accident now faces DWI charges.

I still think that we should put a flashing red and blue light bar on top of some sand barriers, and put it next to the highway on 410. Of course, drunks will be running into them all the time, but at least it will get them off the road.

Charges: DWI (obviously), Reckless endangerment, attempted capital homicide, damage to taxpayers property (it's gonna cost a lot to fix a patrol car), failure to yield, and for fun and another 10+ years, being an idiot. Total, about 75 years behind bars.
