I don't think the problem with NISD schools is lack of security. I have two kids at a NISD highschool and honestly, these people are more concerned with what the kids are wearing, or the color of their hair, and SOMETIMES they get on their soapbox about attendance. Not because they are concerned with the kids education, but because of their funding. They need to focus on the things that are important. Another issue is the junk they feed our kids for breakfast and lunch. They say the are providing a much healthier menu, but who in their right mind would eat the crap they serve? My kids come home hungry almost everyday. You could put someones eye out with the rock hard nasty cheeseburgers they sell, or mop the floor with that soggy excuse for a pizza. No wonder kids hate to go to school. And one last gripe of mine is that a teacher told my son to put away his cell phone (which I am glad she did), but has the audacity to be on her cell phone and tell the kids she has earned the right to be on her phone any time she wants. The very same day the kids were walking from school and this same teacher almost jumped the curb and mowed them down...SHE WAS ON HER PHONE! REALLY? So come on NISD, get it together.

This is a good first move to keeping the kids secure. They'll need to hire ex-military police to patrol or watch the video monitors.

Oh yeah...a security camera is gonna stop a crazy person with a gun. Yep, Is the principle gonna demand that they hold still so they can take a picture over the loud speaker too.
