SAN ANTONIO -- A stretch of unfinished road between Blanco Road and Highway 281 North will soon be completed.
For years, a quarter-mile section of Wilderness Oak road has been a dirt road. Located in a flood plain, the price tag to complete the road was just too much for the county to handle on its own.
County Commissioner Kevin Wolff stepped in and worked with developers and North East Independent School District to come up with the funds. Now, with the help of county funds, the $1.9 million flood control project will be completed.
The project is expected to be completed in the summer of 2013.
