News 4 WOAI's Kristina De Leon recovering after donating kidney

SAN ANTONIO -- As many of you may know, our Kristina De Leon gave her mother one of her kidneys last Friday.

We are happy to report the surgery went well. Both Kristina and her mom are doing well and should be released from the hospital this week.

Employee or not that was a great thing to do which probably saved her mom's life. There are people out there that would try to find something to bit.. about even if it was a perfect world.

Kudos to Kristina De Leon for donating her kidney. Also, not to worry about the remaining kidney, I've been living a normal life with only one kidney since 1977. ;-)

I wonder how many people donate kidneys to loved ones and total strangers every day???? I assume this is news on OAI due to the fact the donor is an employee?
