SAN ANTONIO - Here at News 4 WOAI we've been giving away a year worth of gas, movie passes, and Missions tickets. Monday, we gave away a brand new Chevy Silverado pickup truck.
It was part of a sweepstakes News 4 WOAI, the South Texas Heritage Center at the Witte, and Gunn Chevrolet put together for you.
A handful of contestants who'd been entered into the contest showed up at the Witte Friday morning and were handed a key to try on the truck. Two contestants tried, but their keys did not work.
Michael Vera Ramos, a Central Catholic High School grad, stepped up to the driver's seat, and put his key in the ignition. Cleto Rodriguez asked him on live TV, "Michael, how do you feel right now?"
Michael answered, "Nervous!"
A turn of the key, and the engine revved! Michael, who now goes to Texas Tech for sports exercise, won the Silverado.
"I graduate in August, so it's a good graduation gift," Michael told Cleto.
