BOERNE, Texas -- The brand new Kendall County Women's Shelter opened in April, and it's already nearly full.
The new shelter is in Boerne and is already helping dozens heal.
"Women will leave a violent situation six to ten times before they make the final break," explained Kendall County Women's Shelter Executive Director Kim Keeter.
The privately-funded shelter was badly needed. Last year, more than 800 people reached out to Kendall County Victim Services. When the Boerne shelter opened in April, many turned to it for help immediately.
"It's just mind boggling," Keeter told us. "We've taken over 50 crisis calls over in the past five weeks."
Shelter officials say even though they're keeping busy, they won't turn anyone away.
