@donoho, I agree with your son being able to protect himself what I don't agree is the NRA using children as pawns. I think the NRA could've used a different strategy to get their point across. I am not arguing that every teacher or child feel safe nor, am I saying the president's daughters are more important than other children just that I feel the NRA over stepped its boundary in trying to make their point. But, everyone's entitled to their opinion and respect yours too. I sincerely hope something is done to protect teachers and children from these tragedies and truly salute your son for what he does as an educator. I know it's hard enough to deal with today's kids only to add additional stress from threats like the maniacs that committed these atrocities. Stay safe and good talking with you.

See, @JoNoes, the hypocrisy comes in when the POTUS will insist that his daughters have armed protection at school, but federal law would prevent me from having the same protection. My child is at school every weekday. He works there, which makes him vulnerable. He wants to be armed and I agree entirely that he should be. Once he gets his CCL we’ll lobby Governor Perry to allow it in all Texas schools. Right now, children are not allowed to go to school “with an entourage of security personnel and bullet resistant vehicles” in this country, unless they are the children of the hypocritical POTUS. They’re not as vulnerable as my adult child, because THEY HAVE ARMED PROTECTION. I entirely support this ad, and the NRA’s position. @Lervia, I have to disagree with your 9:25am post. The children of the POTUS are LESS at risk, because every maniac in the country knows they have armed protection. It’s the rest of the children who are most vulnerable.

Funny, I don't remember these kind of complaints when the Bush girls had their security. And the Secret Service was accompaning them to bars when the girls were underage.

And bubba...children are not children until they are born. Before that they are called other names.

Baven...that's a valid observation you made yesterday. Your kids are the most important thing to you, and mine for me, but in a general context, it is clear the American president's are more important, being Obama or whoever is in power. The proof is we all pay for their security, and nobody pays for mine's. And I didn't say the two first daughters were more intelligente, or faster on the track or jumped higher. Just stating facts. Sorry.

If Obama is so concerned about "the children" what does he have to say about the million plus abortions in the US every year? Is he concerned about the disproportionate number of black women having abortions?

Freehole 1:08PM: "the president kids are more important than yours and mine. Obvious. At least as long as he is one of the most powerful men on the globe." Really wow. You're truly ready to be ruled by the Royal Obama Family aren't you? Anyway, let it be known my kids are smarter, more talented, and more important than Barry's spoiled brats. I guess you view less of your children, if you have any. Personally, I don't see how any parent could say what you just did.

@donoho, I agree that all children in school should be safe from these maniacs and will further add that every child is as high a profile and important as any other. However, what I don't agree is the NRA using the children as bait to further their agenda. Any child murdered will be in the spotlight when tragedy strikes that's not to say they're less important than the president's daughters. Therefore, when was the last time your children or any that you know of closely went to school with an entourage of security personnel and bullet resistant vehicles? Does this make your children or any that you know of for that matter less important because, they don't get the same treatment? The point I was trying to make is that the president's daughters are not more important than other kids rather, their high profile as the first daughter's make them a high security risk that measures have to be taken to insure their safety and the NRA is manipulating the facts regarding the president's children. I support the NRA just not in this ad.
