SAN ANTONIO- A Northside Independent School District bus driver turned lifesaver when she saved a student from choking.

This happened Friday as the bus driver was picking up students at Luna Middle School. Anna Argullo said she was waiting for all the students to board the bus when one of them came up to her trying to explain to her that he couldn't breathe. Argullo said she jumped into action and performed the Heimlich maneuver on 13-year old boy Diego Aguilera.

“He came making signs, not breathing you know just came to me and I’m sitting in the seat with the bus running up to me just hitting his chest, just his eyes bulging out,” explained Argullo.

Aguilera was eating a piece of candy when it became lodged in his throat. While he was shaken up he is otherwise all right and said his bus driver is a true hero.
