Motorcycle slams into back of truck

SAN ANTONIO -- Two people were injured when a motorcycle crashed into a truck Wednesday afternoon.

News 4 San Antonio was told a truck traveling eastbound on Interstate 10 near Fresno around 2:30 p.m. Wednesday and came to a stop due to traffic. A motorcycle behind the truck couldn't slow down fast enough and slammed into the back of the truck.

The driver of the motorcycle was taken by EMS to University Hospital. The driver of the truck was taken to Methodist Hospital. Neither had life-threatening injuries.

Yep...Ouch! But lucky. This time. I'm wagering following too close or inattention. As a rider, I don't recall a bike that couldn't out brake and stop in a shorter distance than a car/truck. Unless the physics of mASS & energy were a big factor. 700(+) pounds on a small bike might have an effect on braking distance? I'm not saying these people were large mammals, just thinking out loud about potential causes. Grease oil on road, maybe? Even AC condensation can slicken a road. Still should leave ample distance though (shrugs). Get well soon.
