SAN ANTONIO -- People who frequent Lady Bird Johnson Park say it's turned into a mosquitoes paradise.
"I'm hoping that the city will really take notice of this," said Ja'nise Solitaire, President of the Brahmas Youth Football & Cheer Organization.
The Jr. Brahmas practice at the park three times a week. The football players, cheerleaders, and parents are all getting attacked by mosquitoes.
"The mosquitoes start coming out and they start eating up these kids, even with insect repellent all over them," replied Solitaire.
Solitaire said the mosquito problem got so out of hand earlier this week one of the football players had to be rushed to the emergency room because of all of his mosquito bites.
With West Nile on everyone's mind, Solitaire said she's called the city several times to come and spray the park for mosquitoes.
"And they told me that they've had calls already in the works for the field," said Solitaire.
The city said they did treat the park for mosquitoes earlier this week, but someone from Vector control will be back out at the park to check on the problem Friday.
If you would like to report an area of the city that needs to be sprayed for mosquitoes you can dial 311.
