NATALIA, Texas -- A mother has some harsh words for the Natalia Independent School District board after she claims her daughter was bullied at school.

In a letter to the Devine, Texas newspaper, Maria Ramirez says her daughter tried to tell the high school counselor about the bullying multiple times. But nothing was done. That bullying led to a fight in February.

Ramirez is the second parent to complain about bullying in Natalia schools.

Elia Garza says her elementary-aged daughter has also been bullied in past months.

"I kinda felt like I'm not crazy after all," Garza told News 4 WOAI. "It's not just me. You know? It's happening to someone else."

News 4 WOAI spoke with Natalia Independent School District officials about the allegations. They say since the fight in February mentioned by Maria Ramirez, they have started a peer intervention program at every school there.

They said since that program started, no fights have occurred on campus.

Some parents at Comal Independent School District have also contacted News 4 WOAI about bullying problems going on there. A meeting to discuss their concerns will take place at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 23rd at Smithson Valley High School.
