SAN ANTONIO -- It looks like a dump in the middle of a mobile home park in South Bexar County.

About 40 families are living among discarded furniture, trash and, worst of all, raw sewage. Some of the people who live at the Lakeview Mobile Home Park on Hildebrandt near South Foster Road have complained to the county.

Thursday morning, several county and state agencies went out to inspect the mess. One woman, who asked not to be identified, said she is sick of all the trash overflowing from the trash dumpsters right next to her home.

“Some people, they don't throw it because it's full," the woman told us.. The dogs get into it, and then the air blows. As you can see, it’s everywhere.”

Bexar County Fire Marshal, Craig Roberts said they found a number of violations, including an open field with raw sewage. These homes are both owned privately and by the owner of the park, Fred Hudson. Hudson says he charges the people low rent and can't afford to keep the place up.

“It’s not out of control the way they interpret it," argued Hudson. "People are not in any danger here like they say they are.”

County officials say Hudson has 30 days to take care of the health and safety violations.

glad1, there are American colonias, towns living in third world living conditions right in Texas. It isn't just in Mexico. And we shouldn't forget that really Texas and a large part of the U.S. was originally Mexico hundreds of years ago, with their large moral vacuum among their culture. It's flippant to say go back to Mexico, we should help them change, who wants to go to Mexico anymore? it's a crime outlet.

There's alot of twists to this story. The trash at one trailer was left by the family that vacated. The residents don't feel it is their responsibility to clean up other peoples piggyness. However, their own yards do not look much better. I say take pride in your neighborhood. If it's an eyesore then take a weekend to pile it all up and have a bonfire. Now, the sewer buildup. Totally the landowners responsiblity. That's just nasty. Speaking of bonfire, I want to ask that whoever is targeting the East Side of SA for setting houses on fire, make your work count and go after the crackhouses. C'mon a church, really? Lame. How 1960's. Anyways.

I had the same first thought as everyone else. How about everyone just start picking up after themselves?! Pick up your trash, take a trip to the dump, recycle, plant a flower! Just because the people there are generally poor doesn't mean that they have to trash the place. Take some pride in where ever you call home. Not the cities job to clean up the trash that residents refuse to take care of.

The people who live there put it there ,let them pick up their mess ,why burden the city , tell them this isn't Mexico ,if they want to live like pigs then go to Mexico .this is my opinion,

And who put all that junk in the yards??? Did it magically appear, or are the residents responsible for keeping their yards clear of debris? I can understand complaining about overflowing trash bins, but from the picture, it looks like a lot of junk that people have just pile outside their homes. Sure, call the city and complain when you won't clean up your own mess.
