GONZALES, Texas -- Butterfly is back home.
Ernest Partida says he depends on his pug-chihuahua mix "Butterfly" for companionship. Last Friday, Partida left the dog outside an HEB in Gonzales as he went in for groceries. When he came out, Butterfly was gone.
But the community banded together to help find Butterfly. A reward was offered, and security video showed that Butterfly was picked by a couple at the store. A woman recognized the couple and contacted authorities. Police then went to pick up Butterfly and bring her back home.
Butterfly was not wearing a collar at the time she was taken, so it appears the couple was trying to rescue her.
