SAN ANTONIO -- Someone in San Antonio is a million dollars richer.

The Texas Lottery website reports one million-dollar Powerball ticket was sold at the Frio City Food Mart on Frio City Road.

The winner matched the five white balls in last night's drawing but didn't get the "powerball."

4 Powerball tickets bought in Texas worth $1M each

AUSTIN, Texas (AP) - No Powerball tickets purchased in Texas won the $587.5 million jackpot but four of those tickets are worth $1 million each.

The Texas Lottery Commission on Thursday announced tickets bought in Humble (UHM'-buhl), Dallas, San Antonio and Houston are $1 million winners. Those $2 tickets matched five numbers drawn Wednesday night, but not the Powerball.

Two tickets - one bought in Arizona and another in Missouri - matched all five numbers plus the Powerball. Those numbers are 5, 16, 22, 23, 29. The Powerball is 6.

Lottery spokeswoman Kelly Cripe says Powerball tickets in Texas sold at a peak rate of nearly $75,000 worth per minute leading up to Wednesday night's drawing. Texas Powerball sales totaled nearly $75 million.

my only concern is the winning ticket was purchased by someone who is in this country legally.

Pastor Bob, why must you assume that the winner of the 1 million is a sinner in need of salvation? This person could well be saved and born again and highly blessed and favored of the Lord and that's why he won. Also, what is the meaning of a "large tithe?" A tithe is a tithe - 10% - and the tithes of a person should go to their home church. I think what you're talking about is "an offering" and all things considered after the way you have behaved toward this winner, if I was the winner, I'd avoid you like the plague!! You are a terrible example of a shepherd of a flock. God bless and help your congregation to see His light.

Just like any prize winner there are always people who will come out of the woodwork looking for a handout. Pastor Bob is a good example of that. As for the winner I extend my congratulations, and I hope you obtain good advice as to how to manage your winnings. It is my hope you do not end up unhappy or broke like so many others have in the past. My advice is to stay out of the limelight and refuse to do interviews. This is your private business, so keep it that way.

Pastor Bob is right on the mark in the first half of his comment. However, in the second half, he comes across as one of those very parasites he's warning about. Go figure.

Some one will not need welfare until they spend it all in one year.

Gambling is a sin and anathama unto the Lord. All this ill gotten money will do nothing but ruin this poor wretch's life. He will soon meet all the second cousins he has never met and he will get the chance to see all his old friends that he hasn't seen in years. In His righteous anger, the Lord will likely destroy this sinner. The only way out of this delima is a large tithe to a Christian Church. I happen to be at the office of our Church even now and would be happy to help. Salvation is still available, but you must act quickly, else damnation awaits.
