Martinez, who worked at KABB FOX 29, passed away Monday night. She'd been battling breast cancer for five years and was a driving force behind the annual Healing Hearts Gala fundraiser, which raised money for cancer research and treatments.

Martinez was 37. She leaves behind her husband, Joseph, and her three children, Josh, Miranda, and Mitchell.

A public service will be held Thursday at 7:00 p.m. at Castle Ridge Mortuary on Military Drive West.

To see her every night on the news you could never tell she was dealing with cancer. It's so sad to loose such an amazing woman with such strength and perserverance. I loved her laugher and jokes. I know she's in a better place even though painful she'll be a ray of sunlight shining through everyone.
